Abstract
|
|
|
Sepsis in obstetric field remains of major importance because of persisting high mor
tality rate. The pathophysiologic mechanism and treatmentremains controversial. Twenty five cases of spss who were admitted to Ewha Wcmans University Hospital
during last 4 years were reviewed clinically and the results are as follows:
1) The incidence of sepsis were 0.26%o of the total cbsteric cases admiteed.
2) The most common cause of the infection were improper D&E(28%) and b3ugina tion (20%) respectively.
3) Septic pneumonia, acut renal failure and lung abscess were the main complication of the sepsis.
4) There were 25 patients with sapsis and 2 died (8 %) due to septic shock.
5) The pathophysiologic mechanism and treatment cf sepsis were reviewed the literature and discussed.
